A first-time family in Caterham, Surrey, is looking for a gentle, experienced part-time nanny to care for their baby girl, born in July 2025. The family lives on a private, remote property, and the role is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:30 to 17:30, with an immediate start ideally after Easter. This position will run until January 2027, when their little one is due to start nursery.
The parents are new to parenthood and mum can be quite nervous, so they are looking for someone who is emotionally perceptive, calm, and able to read the room. You will need to offer reassurance and confidence in a way that feels natural, supporting both baby and parents as they settle into life together. A night nanny was employed from Day 1, so this is a day role, focused on nurturing, structure, and gentle guidance.
The baby is healthy, a keen eater, and has eczema. The family also has a very friendly golden retriever, so comfort with dogs is important.
The ideal candidate is warm, patient, and confident with infants, especially first-time parents, and enjoys creating a calm, happy environment. Experience with newborns and an understanding of early development is highly valued. Italian speakers are a bonus. A driver is preferred as the house is in a remote location.
The family values someone who is reliable, thoughtful, and capable of blending seamlessly into their household, offering both practical and emotional support.
