Legal Accounts Assistant Location: Macclesfield, UK Contract: Full Time (37 Hours p/w) - in-office role About Us Our client is a specialist law firm with over 60 years’ experience in Personal Injury, Employers’ Liability/Public Liability, Road Traffic Accidents and Clinical Negligence cases. The Role They are seeking a Legal Accounts Assistant to join their accounts team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and compliant handling of client and office account transactions in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. Key Responsibilities · Processing and posting daily accounting transactions, including receipts, invoices, payments, bills and transfers. · Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within Proclaim and Sage systems. · Completing daily bank account reconciliations across multiple accounts. · Taking responsibility for accuracy across Purchase and sales ledgers · Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes and reporting as required. · Liaising with fee earners and support staff to resolve any accounts-related queries efficiently. · Assisting with ensuring strict compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. · Preparing, processing, and posting bills in line with case progression. · Managing transfers between client and office accounts. · Handling monies in and out of client accounts promptly and accurately. · Experience in Credit Control, and confidence dealing with external stakeholders. The Successful Candidate will have: · Relevant experience in Accounting/Legal Accounting (1 year minimum) · A can-do attitude and a willingness to learn new processes · Experience processing invoices, bills and financial transactions using financial software. · Experience setting up BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments through online banking. · Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills. · Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments. · The ability to proactively manage workload independently and as part of a team. · Proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts · Working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules (Preferred) · Proficiency in Proclaim case management system (or similar Legal Accounts Software) (Preferred) What We Offer · Competitive salary · 25 days holiday (in addition to bank) · Excellent career progression · Supportive and professional working environment · 2pm finish on a Friday
