Interim Head of Finance and Resources – York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority Who You Are The ideal candidate is a fully qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience. You possess proven leadership capabilities in senior finance roles, particularly within the public sector or complex organizations. Your technical acumen includes strong accounting knowledge, experience with financial strategy, budgeting cycles, and stakeholder engagement. You are adept at effective communication and influencing at senior levels, including with elected members. What the Job Involves This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the finance function of the Combined Authority. You'll ensure robust financial management and compliance as the organization evolves post-devolution. Key priorities include leading the production of quarterly budget reports, managing the year-end audit, and transitioning financial management systems from Xero to Oracle. You'll also be responsible for expert financial advice, performance management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvements within financial systems and processes.
