Precision plays a crucial role in the marine and offshore sectors, where accuracy and reliability are paramount. As a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that subsea equipment meets the highest standards of precision.
This hands-on role involves calibrating, testing, and maintaining depth, conductivity, temperature, and sound velocity sensors from industry-leading manufacturers. You will work with advanced underwater instrumentation and use specialist calibration tools and software to meet industry standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Calibrate and test sophisticated underwater sensors and instrumentation
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues, carrying out repairs when needed
* Document results accurately, maintaining rigorous quality standards
* Collaborate with engineers to enhance calibration techniques
* Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient laboratory environment
* Stay informed on the latest industry technologies and practices
You will be setting up a new laboratory and establishing processes and procedures from scratch, giving you the opportunity to implement your own ideas and best practices.
Requirements:
* HND or degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field
* Experience with electronic testing and maintenance, ideally in the subsea or marine sector
* Familiarity with subsea equipment is highly beneficial
* Confident using calibration tools and software
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
* A proactive team player with strong communication skills
