As an Aircraft Technician – Workshops, you will be responsible for carrying out delegated maintenance tasks on Virgin Atlantic engines and associated components, ensuring all work is completed to the highest airworthiness standards.
The primary objective of this role is to support the continued safe operation of the aircraft by meeting and exceeding the airworthiness standards set by Corporate policy and regulatory authority requirements.
Day to day
* Carry out hands-on maintenance of aircraft engines and associated systems and components.
* Adhere strictly to manufacturer-approved maintenance procedures and instructions from the designated supervising Engineer.
* Work independently on delegated tasks, using sound judgement and personal initiative.
* Apply robust engineering practices to all tasks and clearly communicate actions and findings.
* Participate in performance appraisals and ongoing development discussions.
* Support effective cost control within your role and contribute to optimising revenue and managing costs.
* Drive compliance with all Engineering safety, quality and regulatory standards.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have previous engine workshop experience with Form 1 release and associated type training on our engine & APU's, Borescope approval would be advantageous.
* Successfully completed a recognised aeronautical apprenticeship or equivalent, with a strong aircraft engineering background and clear, effective practical skills.
* Previous engine experience would be advantageous.
* Demonstrable ability to adapt to changing working practices and environments, supported by excellent communication skills.
* A sound technical understanding of the Virgin Atlantic fleet, with the capability to determine the airworthiness of components and systems.
* Strong awareness and adherence to current Health and Safety procedures.
