Monmouthshire County Council is seeking a Registered Social Worker to join its friendly and supportive Children's Services team. This temporary role will provide essential cover during a colleague's authorised absence, ensuring continuity of service and safeguarding outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Support with quality assurance of documents including safety plans, assessments, and reports.
* Attend meetings such as Child Protection (CP) conferences to provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers.
* Manage and oversee a small caseload of complex cases during the absence period.
* Provide expertise in the Court arena and Child Protection processes.
* Be office-based at least 3 days per week to support duty tasks and act as a resource for the wider team.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge and experience in Child Protection and Court proceedings.
* Ability to manage complex cases with professionalism and empathy.
* Excellent communication and mentoring skills to support colleagues.
* Commitment to delivering high‑quality, child‑centred social work practice.
* Flexibility to work office‑based a minimum of 3 days per week.
