The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support learners across KS3 and KS4, helping them emotionally regulate, engage in learning and develop essential academic and life skills. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SENDCo, you will play a vital role in breaking down barriers to learning and supporting positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH and SEND needs
*
Assist teachers with engaging, accessible and differentiated lesson delivery
*
Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, communication and emotional regulation
*
Promote a calm, safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
*
Encourage independence, resilience and positive behaviour
*
Create or adapt scaffolded resources for learners
*
Assist with interventions, wellbeing sessions and classroom organisation
*
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and behaviour support teams
*
Uphold safeguarding and child protection requirements
Requirements
*
Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals
*
Passion for working with pupils with SEMH needs
*
Ability to form positive, trusting relationships
*
Understanding of emotional regulation and trauma-informed practice (training provided)
*
Resilient, patient and empathetic approach
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills
*
GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent)
*
Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
Desirable:
*
Level 2/3 TA qualification
*
Experience in SEMH, SEND or alternative provision
*
Behaviour support experience
