Overview
We are looking for a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join West London NHS Trust, a diverse provider delivering mental, physical and community health services across London.

In 2021 the service was nationally recognised and received a ‘highly commended’ accolade from the National Pharmacy Awards. In 2022 it reached the finals at the National Learning Disability and Autism Awards and later that year received the Trust’s ‘Outstanding Clinical Team of the year’. More recently in 2025 it was recognised for ‘Outstanding Patient Experience’ from our Speech & language therapists and nationally, from the ‘Beyond Words’ charity for the ‘Most Inspirational Outcome’.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct clinical oversight, support and steer to other PBS practitioners and workers in the service.
* Carry out joint assessments, share professional knowledge and work in partnership with team administrators.
* Undertake robust behaviour assessments, formulate strategies and conduct risk assessments and strategies.
* Represent the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities, tackle inequalities and improve access to identified services in the statutory and third sectors.
* Lead, mentor PBS colleagues and carers in delivering bespoke and personalised responses to behaviours of concern and challenging.
* Work in partnership with generic health services, service users and carers to support the implementation of their formulated PBS strategies.
Qualifications
* Very experienced PBS Practitioner with substantive senior experience.
* Excellent communication skills between disciplines and across organisations.
* Sound understanding of risk assessment and strategies.
* Experience in behavioural assessment and formulation of personalised strategies.
