We currently have an exciting new opportunity to join our Litigation Team at DLG Legal Services as an RTA/EL/PL Claims Handler. This is a full-time, permanent position, based at our Bromley or Leeds office (hybrid working).
What you’ll be doing
* Managing a caseload of Claimant Employers Liability claims, Personal Liability claims, and unusual Road traffic Accidents such as Pedestrian or Cyclist claims, reporting to the Litigation Team Leader.
* Handling client claims by following the firm’s technical process, documenting activities, and ensuring accurate time recording.
* Conducting investigations into incidents, assessing claim prospects, and reviewing evidence.
* Providing legal advice to clients, managing expectations, and explaining the claims process clearly.
* Negotiating settlements and keeping relevant parties updated.
* Drafting court documents, managing cases efficiently, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures.
* Identifying conflicts, complaints, or acts of negligence, and reporting them appropriately.
* Maintaining good relationships with team members, clients, and external organizations.
* Supporting departmental development through continuous improvement initiatives.
What we’re looking for
* Experienced Claims Handler, Legal Executive, or Solicitor.
* Previous experience with RTA / EL / PL claims, within insurance or law firms.
* Knowledge of Pre Action Protocols, CPR, Practice directions, relevant statutes, and case law.
* Experience with Case Management Systems and research resources like Lawtel.
* Strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail under pressure.
