We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant (or someone with a background in hospitality) to join our team in Kingsmills Care Home for 24 hours per week worked over 4 days of 6 hour shifts. Hours of work: 24 (4x 6 hour shifts).
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious and healthy meals, working closely with the kitchen team to cater to the preferences and dietary needs of residents, including those with special dietary requirements.
* Set up and clear dining areas, maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene in all kitchen, serving and dining areas.
* Keep the kitchen and equipment clean and ensure all safety and hygiene protocols are strictly followed.
* Engage with residents to build meaningful connections, support a hospitality-style approach to catering, and help develop seasonal menus that promote choice and independence as core elements of their dining experience.
Requirements
* Uphold the values of People, Friendly, Passionate and Inclusion.
* Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team; good eye for detail.
* Experience in a similar environment is preferred; Basic Food Hygiene certificate is desirable.
* Knowledge of correct use of kitchen equipment as well as COSHH and HACCP regulations.
