Job Description
Role: Electrical Field Service Engineer
Location: Leeds (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Field Service Engineer to join our team, specialising in LV/MV. This is a field-based role, the successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and commissioning of LV/MV switchgear systems, including functional testing, protection relay configuration, and system integration
* Perform pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance testing, and fault diagnostics
* Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
* Liaise with clients, project managers, and internal teams to support smooth project delivery
* Provide technical support and fault-finding during and after commissioning
* Carry out Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to customer specifications
* Complete commissioning reports, test records, and technical documentation
* Participate in site surveys, risk assessments, and method statement preparation
* Support the training and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians when required
Skills & Experience Required
* ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Experience commissioning LV/MV switchgear
* Experience working with protection relays
* Knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Willingness to travel (UK and occasional international travel) and work flexible hours, including weekends when required
* Full UK driving licence
