What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate should demonstrate teamwork and enthusiasm. You will work alongside class teachers and other TAs to support children in class, helping them engage fully with school life and prepare for their next learning stage. The role involves working primarily with a child on a 1:1 basis in lower KS2 and supporting with whole class activities.
* Support positive behaviour in class and beyond
* Assist pupils in accessing and understanding learning
* Work mainly with a child with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis, and also support groups within the classroom
* Help the focus child engage with the curriculum
* Promote pupil talk and thinking through high-quality interactions
* Lead group activities inside and outside the classroom, including implementing 'catch-up' programmes with targeted groups
* Assist in tailoring curriculum activities to enable pupil engagement and access, including preparing and clearing resources
* Support the self-esteem, progress, and independent learning of children
* Participate in school activities such as assemblies, breaks, sports day, and educational visits
* Undertake administrative tasks to support teaching and learning
