Yard Operative - Heywood
Hours:
1. Monday to Friday: 09.00-18.00
2. Flexibility required: 06:00 - 18:00 when needed
3. Saturday: 07:00 - 11:00 (as required)
Pay:
4. £12.21 per hour (basic rate)
5. All overtime paid at basic rate
6. Saturday rate: £12.21 per hour
Location: Heywood
About the Role:
We are looking for a dependable and proactive Yard Operative to join our team in Heywood. This is a physically active role working outdoors in all weather conditions. If you have experience working with chemicals this would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
7. Handling chemicals
8. Load and unload vehicles and containers
9. Organise and maintain yard stock and materials
10. Ensure the yard is clean, safe, and well-organised
11. Assist with general yard duties including manual handling
12. Support deliveries and collections
13. Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment
14. Follow health and safety procedures at all times
15. Liaise with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth operations
16. Report any issues or hazards promptly
Requirements:
17. Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
18. Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment (preferred)
19. Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors
20. Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours
21. Strong awareness of health and safety
22. Good communication and teamwork skills
23. Must have good communication skills both verbally and written.
