Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
This is a fixed-term position for 9 months.
The shift pattern is from 8:30 to 16:30. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist to join the Home First Response Service, which operates on a hub-and-spoke model with teams in the acute site and community. The post is based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, working alongside the wider MDT to assess and care for people living with frailty. The acute community in-reach team will collaborate with community teams to support safe discharges and enable people to live at home, preventing unnecessary admissions.
Hours are flexible between 8 am and 8 pm, 7 days a week. Initially, the core hours will be over 3 days per week, with the expectation that hours and shift patterns will expand as the service develops. Referrals will come from front door areas to facilitate quick and safe discharges, aiming to keep people at home through additional care and treatment.
