Job Introduction
About the Role
Reporting into the Transport Manager, the successful Assistant Transport Manager will beassisting the Transport Manager in delivering a safe & efficient transport service and be responsible for managing all relevant documents and information to deliver the most efficient schedules.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you as the successful Assistant Transport Manager will be carrying out the following duties and responsibilities (not exhaustive)
1. Ensuring Tarmac meets all statutory obligations of the rules and regulations in respect of Operator Licence, Transport Legislation and Company procedures
2. Managing induction, training & development plans and briefings for all drivers
3. Ensures all drivers are suitably trained, including Driver CPC requirements and customer service training
4. Ensuring all documents are up to date and appropriately recorded and filed to ensure regulations are fully met
5. Ensuring Transport Operator Licences are fully legally compliant within the region
6. Undertaking Health & Safety investigations as required
7. Deputising for the Transport Manager when required
What we are looking for
We are looking for an Assistant Transport Manager who is ideally:
8. In receipt of a Certificate of Professional Competence
9. Knowledge of Transport legislation regarding ‘O’ Licence, Drivers Hours, Construction and Use Regulations
10. Knowledge of road health & safety management
