Monarch Education is recruiting on behalf of a Nursery School in Longbridge for the position of a Early Years Practitioner. This is a full-time position required to start as soon as possible (ASAP). Job Specification: The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant with proven experience in supporting children with a range of SEND within a school environment. Key Responsibilities and Requirements: Qualifications: Level 3 Early Years Qualification Mandatory: Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a similar relevant qualification. Experience: Experience working with children ages 0-5 in nurseries, preschools or early years classrooms Supporting children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework Essential experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a UK primary school setting. Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively communicate with young children, parents and colleagues Active listening and clear verbal and nonverbal communication To be able to adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs Skills in observing children's development and behaviour Understanding of different SEND conditions and effective strategies for supporting children with these needs. Support and Intervention: Assist pupils with their academic learning, providing clarification and encouragement. Support pupils with social and emotional development, promoting positive interactions and behaviour. Assist with personal care needs where required (depending on the specific needs of the pupils). Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment for all pupils. Professional Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. The ability to be proactive and take initiative within the scope of the role. A commitment to the well-being and progress of children, including those with additional needs The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
