Role Overview:
Working within a team working on cutting edge engineering automation solutions, the Automation Engineer will utilize the latest technologies to develop automated manufacturing and test facilities.
The successful candidate will work within a multi-discipline Engineering team to provide cutting edge innovative solutions to support an award-winning manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate ideas clearly, be well organised, self-motivated and accountable, whilst working in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. They will have an innovative approach to design with good analytical abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop bespoke Automation solutions.
2. Research latest technologies and ideas and develop them for use in the production environment.
3. Liaising with internal and external companies to manufacture designs.
4. Building, test and debugging equipment designs and control circuits.
5. Produce documentation in accordance with required safety standards.
6. Collaborate with a cross-discipline engineering team, communicating best practices, ideas and project updates to the team and senior management.
Essential Criteria:
7. HNC/HND or higher in relevant Engineering disciplines.
8. Demonstratable experience in Mechanical Engineering.
9. A good understanding or knowledge of electrical/ electronic circuits.
10. Experience of project management, including setting a schedule with clear ownership.
11. Excellent understanding of manufacturing equipment safety requirements.
Desirable Criteria:
12. An understanding of Robotics.
13. Knowledge or previous experience in PLC Programming.
14. Knowledge of 3D CAD Design, preferably SolidWorks/ AutoCAD Inventor.
15. Experience of working with PUWER / COSHH regulations.
