Platform Engineering Lead role at TieTalent. Platform Engineering Lead Cloud Data Up to £150k + Bonus. Were supporting a major UK organisation undergoing a data & cloud transformation and looking to bring in a Platform Engineering Lead to help drive this journey. This role will lead multiple agile teams building out a cutting-edge data mesh architecture on GCP, helping shape technical direction and scale high-impact data products across the enterprise.
As the Platform Engineering Lead, you will technically lead engineering teams with up to 75 staff, driving the vision, setting engineering standards & culture, managing multiple roadmaps and influencing the technical direction.
Responsibilities
* Lead multiple agile teams building a data mesh architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
* Shape technical direction and scale high-impact data products across the enterprise
* Provide technical leadership for up to 75 engineers, setting standards, culture, and roadmaps
* Drive transformation initiatives within data and cloud programs
Qualifications
* Strong background in software, cloud, DevOps and data engineering
* Experience leading complex, cross-functional delivery and engineering teams with a track record of setting engineering standards
* GCP experience (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, IAM) or similar cloud platforms; knowledge of data mesh and modern DevOps practices
* Ability to work with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
