We are currently seeking to appoint a Head of Area within the Department of Professional Studies, Access to HE, Animal Sciences and Protective Services. The role will involve oversight of Access to HE and Adult Professional Courses up to and including Higher Level Adult and Apprenticeship Programmes; such as CIPD, AAT etc. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. Day to day duties of the role include: Designing and developing a wide curriculum that meets the needs of learners, supports growth, and enables them to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to progress into meaningful sustained destinations. Effectively leading, managing and developing the implementation of curriculum that creates an outstanding learner experience. Leading, motivating and developing a team of staff and supporting their career journeys while championing a cycle of continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with cross-college teams to ensure the wider knowledge, skills and behaviours learners need are planned and developed coherently (e.g., Maths, English, Careers, Personal Development, digital etc.) Required skills and qualifications Level 4 Teaching Qualification. A full understanding of the EIF and awarding organisation guidance and regulations. Experience in working effectively with employers/partners to develop current and new provisions. Effective management skills and ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
