Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may work fewer hours down to a minimum of 12. You will receive three weeks’ notice of your shifts and we support flexibility within the availability windows below.

Responsibilities
* Work in a fast‑paced retail environment, keeping the store clean, well‑stocked and delivering a seamless customer experience.
* Take ownership of running duty shifts and coordinate the team to meet daily priorities and maintain store standards.
* Provide excellent customer service by listening to shoppers, helping them find what they need and ensuring they leave satisfied.
* Coach and give feedback to colleagues, looking for ways to improve service and streamline operations.
* Guide and support team members in‑store, ensuring safety and a welcoming shopping environment.
* Maintain an understanding of store performance, assist managers with actions that improve performance, and coordinate improvements and obstacle removal.
* Lead by example, setting a high standard for work ethic and teamwork.
* Support managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events.
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive team atmosphere and celebrate colleagues' achievements.
* Follow health and safety routines and procedures, ensuring colleagues do the same.

Legal & Eligibility
Please note that you must be 18 or over to apply for this role. Tesco will only recruit individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age. We can accept candidates over 18 only if the role requires working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or involves work in the warehouse, beer, wine, spirits, counters, bakery or driving roles.
On occasions when we receive high volumes of applicants, some roles may close earlier than the advertised end date to manage all candidates effectively. We will only be able to offer individual feedback to candidates who attend an interview.
