We have an exciting opportunity to work in the Swansea Bay University Health Board as our Deputy Director of Public Health (Consultant grade AfC or Medical & Dental).

You will help shape the development and implementation of approaches supporting our population health ambitions, including collaboration with primary care, third sector, and community sectors.

Main duties of the job
You will take an individual portfolio and provide leadership to the team supporting the Health Board in delivering its Population Health Strategy. This involves working at senior leadership level within the Health Board, with local partners, the NHS in Wales, and Public Health Wales.
This role is ideal for an experienced Consultant with practical knowledge of all three domains of Public Health, to lead a multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Master's in Public Health or equivalent; in-depth understanding of health and care systems, government relationships, policy, budget management, HR, clinical quality assurance, quality improvement, evaluations, and evidence-based practice.
* High-level knowledge of epidemiology, statistics, health protection, health economics, and healthcare evaluation; understanding of social and political environments.
Qualifications
* MFPH by examination, exemption, or assessment.
* Inclusion in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice, or GDC Specialist List (or eligibility within six months of interview), or UKPHR registration (or eligibility within six months).
* For UK-trained applicants, CCT or equivalent; non-UK trained applicants must demonstrate comparable training or experience.
Experience
* Experience in explaining complex public health issues, senior-level practice, and contributing at Board level.
* Experience working in complex political and social environments.
* Management, training, and development experience.
* Experience in evaluations, literature reviews, budget management, and performance reviews.
* Media experience in health promotion messaging.
* Scientific publications and conference presentations.
