Job Title: Estate Services Operative
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £26,875 per annum
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, full time
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
Location: Millwall, London

Role Profile

9. Cleaning duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, litter picking and dog waste removal.
10. Keeping car parks and bin sheds swept and tidy.
11. Clearance of bulk waste from sites if not delegated to bulk waste team.
12. Reporting of matters from site to management. these include health and safety concerns, and any issues affecting the interior and exterior maintenance of the site.
13. Maintaining the good relationship with their residents and colleagues.
14. Occasional cover for other staff members due to sickness holidays etc. this may include extra duties from time to time.
15. Where trained and applicable, some weed control, sweeping, litter picking and general grounds maintenance duties.
16. Patrol duties including checking for faulty streetlamps and evidence of anti-social behaviour.
17. Attending site and clearing bulk waste
18. Attending site and clearing fly-tipped rubbish
19. Skimming bin in case of missed collection

Person specification

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

20. Full UK driving licence
21. Knowledge of cleaning methods
22. Knowledge of cleaning tools and product selection
23. Knowledge and experience with powered equipment including hoovers and hand tools
24. Appropriate competency-based training and experience
25. Knowledge and experience of correct use of PPE
26. Competence and knowledge of risk perception including risk to passers by during operations

Desirable

27. PA1/PA6 pesticide application advantage
28. BICS or similar cleaning industry certificates and advantage
29. First aid at work or similar
30. H&S certificates an advantage

Other Duties

31. Initiative to reorganise scheduled tasks in the event of bad weather, staff shortage and traffic problems under the supervision and permission of the line manager at all times
32. Deciding how to make a site always look good and, on each visit,
33. Good team skills required to work with colleagues and take instructions from them; polite and cooperative demeanour is necessary to work effectively together.
34. On site relationships with clients and residents must be police, courteous and respectful at all times
