An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Palliative Medicine Consultant to join the Supportive and Palliative Care team at East Kent Hospitals. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative forward‑thinking individual to join our multi‑disciplinary team.
Team and Services
Our multi‑disciplinary Supportive and Palliative Care Team is part of the Trust Cancer Services, working closely with colleagues in the Acute Oncology, Oncology, Haematology, Research, Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Teams to support both inpatient and outpatient pathways across the Trust.
This is a new post at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be part of the Palliative Medicine Consultant Team and be based at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (QEQM) Margate but will act as Consultant responsible for the provision of specialist Palliative Care Services across East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust.
Key Role Responsibilities
A key component of this role is to provide advanced clinical skills, leadership and expert knowledge in clinical practice. The role contributes to leading service delivery, supporting quality improvement and providing safe and effective specialist level palliative care assessment and advice to adult patients with life‑limiting illnesses or those undergoing curative treatment of serious conditions with complex symptoms, supporting our core services in the Trust.
