Description: As the Access and Participation Manager, you will lead and motivate a team and play a key role in shaping the design and delivery of schools and colleges outreach work, ensuring the work of the team meets the objectives outlined within the University’s Access and Participation Plan (APP). The post holder will use data and on the ground insights to identify new opportunities within outreach to enable the university to deliver first class outreach activities and initiatives. The post holder will act as a leader and role model for the team and will support them with their personal and professional development, working with them to best ensure collaboration and a shared vision towards key priorities.
About the Role
You will lead and manage a team that facilitates exceptional outreach, engagement and attainment raising activities. You will be required to set objectives linked to the operationalisation and delivery of the University’s APP and monitor and evaluate the work of the team. Additionally, you will continually review the outreach offer, and ensure professional standards are maintained and applied within all areas of outreach and schools and colleges engagement.
About You
* Full UK driving licence
* Experience of successful HE schools and colleges engagement
* Excellent ability to lead a team and identify opportunities for development
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skill
* Ability to undertake research and use data to determine appropriate markets for engagement
* A detailed understanding of policies, practices and procedures within recruitment, outreach and the wider higher education sector
* Experience of managing a team within either student recruitment or outreach
* Experience of contributing towards Access and Participation Plans

Additional Information
Salary Grade 7 - Starting from £38,784 rising to £43,482 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
The post holder may be required to carry out any other duties required commensurate with the grade and scope of the post.
The nature of the role means that some evening and weekend working will be required to cover core departmental activities. The arrangement of working hours will be agreed in advance with the post’s line manager.
All members of the Academic Planning team are expected to support cross-University events such as student recruitment activities, graduations, clearing, registration and similar, as appropriate.
