Responsibilities
To deliver high-quality Tandem Quadrupole MS applications activities that support customer goals and Waters' regional growth by:
1. Encouraging a deep understanding of customer objectives to deliver meticulously planned, outstanding, and impactful laboratory projects and scientific reports across diverse application domains
2. Providing subject matter insight (see relevant fields below) to support impactful pre-sales discussion with customer and Waters Sales team
3. Continuously developing technical expertise and application knowledge to stay aligned with the market dynamics and new product introductions that drive regional sales growth.
4. Play a key role in introducing new technology to the demo team, supporting cross-training and demo strategy.
5. Provide field insights on products, markets, and applications to inform and support new and early-stage product development initiatives.
6. Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and Health & Safety standards.
This is primarily a lab-based role, however, with up to 20% regional travel as required, and some opportunity for hybrid home working
Qualifications
7. BSc degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, with relevant LC/MS industry, academic, or commercial experience.
8. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry is crucial.
9. Experience developing and using quantitative LC/MS/MS methodologies is essential.
10. Flexibility to develop skills across different applications is required; however, we are particularly keen on individuals who have previously worked in any of the following areas:
Pharmaceutical quantitative analysis (eg. bioanalysis or ADME)
Food safety/screening (including PFAS)
Environmental analysis (including PFAS)
Extractables and leachable analysis
11. Additionally interesting (but non essential) areas of applicant experience include:
Metabolite identification by HRMS
Pesticide or other contaminant screening by HRMS
Environmental screening by HRMS
Quantitative or qualitative GC/MS applications
12. Hands-on experience with Waters MS products and software (., Waters Connect, MassLynx, UNIFI, related application managers) is preferred; candidates with experience in alternative MS technologies and operating systems are also welcome.
13. Experience in a customer-facing role is preferred but not crucial. Candidates should show strong business insight and awareness of the commercial landscape.
