We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Server Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimise our server infrastructure, supporting mission critical systems and applications. This is a fully onsite role requiring a hands on presence for the monitoring and maintenance of physical and virtual server environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Windows server environments, virtualisation platforms, backup systems, licensing infrastructure, and strong knowledge of cybersecurity and hosted services. You will play a key role in ensuring operational continuity, security, and system availability across the company.

Key Responsibilities
Server & RDS Infrastructure
* Server Management: Administer and maintain Windows servers to ensure stability and optimise performance.
* Manage the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environment (Session Hosts, Connection Broker, Licensing, Gateway).
* Configure and maintain RDS Gateway over HTTPS for secure access without VPN reliance.
* Plan and perform new installations, server upgrades and diagnose when required.
* Monitor server performance (CPU, memory, storage, user sessions) and apply updates.
* Implement and manage Data encryption on server disks.
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services
* Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
* Support OneDrive integration for staff (SharePoint libraries in File Explorer).
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and licenses.
* Enforce security best practices (MFA, conditional access, DLP).
Networking & Security
* Configure and support Draytek firewall/VPN appliances during transition to RDS Gateway.
* Create and manage remote user profiles, VPN accounts, and secure RDP access.
* Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
* Monitor logs, patch systems, and maintain secure configurations.
* Oversee backups and disaster recovery planning.
* Align IT practices with ISO/IEC 27001 and related information security standards.
User Support & Operations
* Provide on-site IT support for staff (desktops, laptops, printers, and connectivity).
* Support staff with RDP access, MFA, Microsoft 365 apps, and troubleshooting.
* Handle user onboarding/offboarding (VPN's, accounts, devices, permissions, MFA setup).
* Deliver staff training on IT systems, security, and collaboration tools.
Improvement & Planning
* Recommend system upgrades or improvements as the business grows.
* Maintain IT documentation (infrastructure, procedures, credentials).
* Support potential future migration projects (virtualisation or cloud desktops).

* Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022) and centralised management tools.
* Remote Desktop Services (Session Host, Broker, Gateway, Licensing).
* Microsoft 365 administration, Azure AD & Windows Clustering.
* Networking (VPNs, firewalls, routing, DNS, DHCP).
* Security practices aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 or similar frameworks.
* Disk encryption, backup, disaster recovery.
* PowerShell scripting for automation and SQL Server troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
* Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27000 family standards (ISO 27001, 27002,
* Experience with Hyper-V or VMware.
* Exposure to VDI platforms (Citrix, AVD, Parallels RAS).

What we are looking for:
* 3+ years experience in a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineering role.
* Experience designing network architectures inclusive of LAN/WAN networking and Windows Servers
* Strong communicator, able to explain IT clearly to non-technical staff.
* Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently in an onsite environment.
