We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionateParamedic to join our Same Day Access Service team. In this role, you will beresponsible for delivering prompt clinical assessment and care to patientsrequiring urgent but not emergency attention.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, youwill assess, manage, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of acuteconditions. This role supports the timely delivery of care and helps optimisethe efficiency of the wider healthcaresystem.


Main duties of the job

Patient Assessment & Care

* Conduct comprehensiveclinical assessments for patients with acute medical needs.
* Developand implement appropriate management and treatment plans within your scopeof practice.
* Prioritisepatient care based on clinical urgency

Coordination & Referral

Collaborate with GPs,nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

* Referpatients to appropriate services, specialists, or emergency departmentsbased on clinical need and service pathways.
* Educate patients andfamilies on managing health conditions at home.
* Offerguidance on lifestyle, medications, and signs that require further medicalreview.
* Maintain accurate andtimely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
* Recordall patient interactions using the appropriate clinical systems.
* Work closely withcolleagues to design and deliver effective care plans
* Communicateclearly and compassionately with patients, carers, and team members tosupport safe, high-quality care.

Professional Development

* Participate in ongoingtraining and reflective learning.
* Maintainup-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines, protocols, and innovations inurgent care.

Role Title: Same Day Access Paramedic

Clinically responsible to:Clinical Lead GP Managerially responsible to:Service Delivery Officer Tenure:FTC until March 2027, PAYE Base:On-site Monday to Friday Remuneration:£55,000 PA

1. Role Summary

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Care

Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for patients with acute medical needs.

* Develop and implement appropriate management and treatment plans within your scope of practice
* Prioritise patient care based on clinical urgency.

Coordination & Referral

* Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Refer patients to appropriate services, specialists, or emergency departments based on clinical need and service pathways.
* Educate patients and families on managing health conditions at home.
* Offer guidance on lifestyle, medications, and signs that require further medical review.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards
* Record all patient interactions using the appropriate clinical systems.
* Work closely with colleagues to design and deliver effective care plans.
* Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, carers, and team members to support safe, high-quality care.

Professional Development

* Participate in ongoing training and reflective learning
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines, protocols, and innovations in urgent care.

3. Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

HCPC-registered Paramedic.

Clinical experience in urgent care, primary care, or emergency settings.

Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Ability to work autonomously, manage uncertainty, and make decisions under pressure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiar with EMIS clinical system.

Confident in the use of digital tools such as Accurx and Docman.

Prior experience in a Same Day Access or Urgent Care Service..

Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MSc Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent).

Certification in ALS, PALS, or other relevant clinical courses.
