An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed qualified mental health nurses to work in the Psychiatric Liaison Team (PLT) based at NSECH hospital in Cramlington, focusing on the adult pathway.
We are seeking highly motivated Band 6 staff within the adult psychiatry pathway to join our 24/7 service.
This role is varied and fast-paced, involving work in Accident and Emergency (A&E) and inpatient wards across NSECH and other sites.
Main duties of the job
* Undertaking biopsychosocial and risk assessments.
* Delivering brief interventions and liaising with other services.
* Providing expert advice to acute trust staff and offering ongoing support and treatment to patients.

Facilities include a gym and health and wellbeing hub.
In liaison psychiatry, staff conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, risk and safety planning, and provide liaison interventions, including brief psychological support, when patients remain in the hospital for medical treatment.
Engagement with professionals involved in patient care, including family and carers, social care, and other services, is essential.
We work closely with emergency departments, medical admissions, alcohol specialist nurses, and safeguarding teams.
