Teaching Assistant Role at Protocol Education
We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join a SEND provision in Loughton.
The students in this school have a variety of special needs, including ASD, Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH), and complex learning disabilities. A desire to support in this area is essential, but previous experience is not required!
In this role, you will use your knowledge of learning support, communication skills, and creativity to develop a varied approach to help pupils with Special Education Needs and Disabilities understand the information presented and support them throughout their education.
The Role Includes:
1. Supervising pupils to ensure their safety and access to learning activities.
2. Helping pupils understand information using various teaching aids.
3. Assisting in the implementation of education plans tailored to each pupil’s learning objectives.
4. Building trusting relationships with pupils and communicating appropriately.
5. Promoting class interaction and encouraging pupil engagement.
6. Creating an engaging learning environment.
7. Supporting pupils' physical, social, and emotional well-being.
This is a long-term, full-time position requiring availability five days a week, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Experience in a school environment is not necessary; volunteers or those who have worked in youth clubs, theatre groups, or after-school clubs are encouraged to apply.

Pay rates will include statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent roles in the future.
