This is an exciting opportunity for a Ward Receptionist to join a diverse and motivated team that are dedicated to the development of skills and the delivery of high quality safe care.

As a Ward Receptionist, you will often be the first point of contact for patients, families, carers, and visitors. You will play a key role in helping people feel welcome, respected, and supported, so strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner are essential.

You will work closely with colleagues to support the smooth and efficient running of the ward reception. This role requires flexibility, the ability to work in a busy environment, and a positive, caring approach to working with others.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, content with working in a busy environment and who has good time management skills.

You must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. It is essential that you act professionally at all times, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise work load.

The post holder will be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive reception service within Day Case Unit. Fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient treatment using both paper based health records and information technology systems.

Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times. After appropriate training the post holder will be required to utilise the hospital computer system to capture and update necessary data, and to use the case note tracing system to accurately record the movement of paper based health records.

The role requires close liaison with other disciplines and the provision of a courteous, reliable and quality consumer service to patients, relatives and carers, healthcare professionals, internal departments and outside organisations.

For Internal Applications - This position is offered as a secondment. Accordingly, you are required to consult with your manager and obtain approval prior to submitting your application.
