We’re looking for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist
to join the INEOS Acetyls team based in Hull.
INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and derivatives across Europe, Asia, and America. We’re part of INEOS, one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world, employing around 26,000 people across 194 sites in 29 countries.
You will be based at the Hull site, the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and ethyl acetate in Europe. Our products are essential building blocks used in industries such as renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings, and textiles.
Hull hosts the company's global Technology Development and Support Team and is located on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park, a hub of chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the UK's energy estuary.

The opportunity
We have a vacancy for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist. This role is vital within the Environmental & Industrial Hygiene team, ensuring the safe operation of the site.
The successful candidate will be the technical expert in Industrial Hygiene, providing operational, technical, and planning support to Hull site assets, third parties, and stakeholders.

Key accountabilities
* Lead planning and delivery of Industrial Hygiene support, including third-party programs
* Stay updated on environmental and occupational hygiene developments relevant to INEOS
* Develop and implement the Hull Site Health Map environmental and industrial hygiene program
* Provide troubleshooting services in environmental and industrial hygiene
* Supervise and train technicians and staff in IH activities and skills
* Lead HSSE initiatives within the analytical laboratory, fostering a safety culture
* Maintain and develop environmental and occupational hygiene capabilities and techniques
* Network externally to stay informed on EIH developments and provide advice
About you
Level of education & experience
* Degree in a relevant science discipline; MSc or PhD preferred
* Diploma or equivalent in Professional Competence in a relevant area
* Extensive manufacturing experience essential
* Team contribution, innovation, and capability building skills
* Professional accreditation and knowledge of UK Environmental Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme desirable
* Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Results-driven with a performance bias
* Interest in knowledge management and continuous improvement
* Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
* Motivator with a focus on team and organizational improvements
