As our Insurance Manager, you will assist the Director of Insurance Programmes and Group Insurance Programme Manager in designing and executing the optimal risk transfer strategy for Bupa using an appropriate insurance programme.
This role reports to the Director of Group Insurance Programmes. There are no roles reporting into this role.
The role is based at our Angel Court, London office with flexibility to work from home 2-3 day per week. The role requires a flexible approach to the working environment and hours given the international nature of the business and role. Study will be supported.
How you'll help us make health happen:
1. Act as an interface for the Insurance team, responding to a wide range of queries from across the business.
2. Support our claims handling process by interfacing with internal stakeholders and our external claims handlers. Including providing information from across the business for claims defence and settlement.
3. Supporting the Insurable risk team with the annual insurance renewal programme by:
4. Gathering key data from across the business.
5. Interacting with our insurance broker and answering broker and/or insurer questions.
6. Compiling reports to submit to the broker and the insurance market.
7. Adding exposure and policy information onto our insurance management information System.
8. Assisting with the provision of our claims data by:
9. Supporting with departmental procedures and guidelines; ensure all routine tasks/ procedures are documented, revised as needed. Ensure a continual improvement methodology is maintained.
10. Supporting the team to build and develop the relationship with insurance brokers, insurers, insurance legal advisors, loss adjusters & risk consultants ensuring that service provision is in accordance with contractually agreed terms where relevant.
11. Supporting with the Insurance team’s internal engagement plan across the business by co-ordinating diaries, meetings, minutes, and actions.
12. Supporting the Claims Managers where necessary in managing the insured claims process.
What we’re looking for:
13. Confident using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and general computing skills.
14. Have strong communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, written and presenting.
15. Having an interest in Insurance/Risk Management and developing a career as an in-house insurance professional is key.
16. Strong multi-tasking skills and experience of balancing priorities to meet deadlines are important, plus a high degree of literacy (including digital) numeracy.
17. You need to be innovative and willing to suggest and consider alternate approaches that deliver value to the business.
18. Insurance claims and risk management experience either in-house or for a broker, insurer (minimum 2-3 years).
19. Desire to study for ACII.
20. Desirable – Spanish Language
