Job Description Position Overview A new and exciting luxury lodge resort set in the grounds of Chester Zoo is opening August 2025 and we are on the lookout for an Assistant Night Manager to join the team. The Reserve is an exciting development of 51 savannah inspired luxury lodges, overlooking a beautiful lake or our giraffe habitat and connecting directly to the stunning Heart of Africa zone of Chester Zoo. From immersive experiences to quiet relaxation, The Reserve is a place to make lasting memories. The Role As Assistant Night Manager, you ll support the Night Manager in ensuring smooth, safe, and professional overnight operations across the property. You ll be a key point of contact for both our night team and guests, handling requests and situations with a calm, professional approach while ensuring service, safety, and standards remain at their very best throughout the night. Responsibilities: Oversee The Reserve s operations during the night in the absence of senior management. Support the Night Team with guest queries, check-ins/outs, and emergencies. Monitor hotel security and always ensuring guest safety. Conduct regular audits, reporting and handovers for day operations. Assist in training and guiding night staff to ensure high performance. Handle any guest feedback or incidents with discretion and care. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments for next-day readiness Communicate effectively with the Chester Zoo team What We re Looking For: Previous experience in a similar hotel night role. Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest service excellence. Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills. Knowledge of hotel systems is a plus. A team player who leads by example, even when the rest of the world is sleeping.
