Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Commercial/Procurement
Location: Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Responsibilities
* Be aware of the requirement for pre‑contract management and project commercial start‑up procedures.
* Assist with subcontract procurement in accordance with the BBV procurement schedule, process and policy.
* Prepare work package content sheets and subcontract invitations to tender.
* Ensure materials and off‑site services are procured efficiently, in line with best practice, legal requirements and BBV procurement procedures.
* Recognise and record 'change'.
* Prepare material wastage reconciliations and maintain plant and equipment schedules for efficient use.
* Produce accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts.
* Maintain awareness of programming and sequencing requirements.
* Prepare and issue accurate subcontract notices and instructions.
* Adhere to robust subcontract change‑control procedures.
* Support interim subcontract payments.
* Develop and apply measurement methods; provide quantified work schedules and/or bills of quantities.
* On‑site quantification of unfixed materials.
* Check day‑work sheets and time‑and‑material records.
* Participate in project close‑out and archiving.
