We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Medical Administrator to join our friendly and expanding team at Drs Reddy & Nunn, on a temporary 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.

As a well-established, friendly and forward-thinking GP practice, we take pride in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our diverse patient population. With continued growth and service development, we are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to support the practice through a combination of administrative and reception duties.


Main duties of the job

As part of our administrative team, your responsibilitieswill include (but are not limited to)

Welcomingand assisting patients both in person and over the phone with a friendly,professional attitude

Supportingpatients with online triage systems, including assisting with queries andsubmissions

Scanningincoming correspondence, letters, and results into patient records

Readcoding relevant clinical and administrative informationusing SystmOne

Maintainingaccurate and confidential patient records in line with GDPR andpractice protocols.

Workingcollaboratively within the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Previousadministrative experience and a strong background in customer service areessential for this role. Flexibility is also key, as you may be required toprovide cover for annual leave and staff absence, and must be available to workbetween the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, as needed.

Job responsibilities

Providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service to patients and visitors

Answering telephone calls promptly and efficiently, signposting patients appropriately

Supporting patients with online triage systems, including assisting with queries and submissions

Booking and managing appointments using the clinical system

Handling patient enquiries in person, over the phone, and via online communication platforms

Ensuring patient information is recorded accurately and confidentially

Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure smooth daily operation

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* Business Administration (NVQ) or equivalent


Experience

* Experience working in a primary care environment is advantageous but not essential
* Strong background in customer service and administrative work is required
* A clear, polite telephone manner and excellent communication skills are essential for this role
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage a busy workload effectively
* Confident using IT systems and able to learn new software quickly
* A team player with a proactive and flexible approach to work
