Are you a passionate Senior Sous Chef ready to step up in a fast-paced, fresh food environment? We're looking for a talented and driven chef to join a busy, independent pub in Southampton.
Location: Southampton
Salary: £37,500-£39,000 + bonus + tips (£5-8k)
Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, 48 hours per week
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-volume, fresh food pub, working with quality ingredients and a strong kitchen team. You'll play a key role in delivering consistently high standards while supporting the Head Chef in running the kitchen.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
* Leading the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence
* Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
* Managing prep, service, and stock control efficiently
* Training, mentoring, and developing junior chefs
* Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Thriving in a busy, fast-paced service environment
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fresh food pub or similar environment
* Strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach
* Experience working in high-volume kitchens
* Passion for fresh, seasonal food and quality produce
* Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
* A team player with great communication skills
