The Role
We are looking for an EDS Engineer to develop the Electrical Distribution Systems in conjunction with the customer providing 3D data, harness technical information, design change study data and cost reduction proposals in line with Nissan's vehicle development program.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* To provide advance information to Sumitomo manufacturing facilities ahead of design release to ensure rapid response to meet our customer's planning requirements
* Creation of wire harness 3D data using I-DEAS
* Creation of wire harness 2D manufacturing drawing's using I-DEAS and harness designer (HD)
* Manage wire harness design change (between 3D releases) in conjunction with customer requirements
* Creation of design change content in 2D for customer release
* Creation of spec tender content in preparation for customer release
* Maintain and manage harness open issues lists to ensure that all aspects of the design are taken into consideration when managing change
* Production system circuit schematics to Nissan requirements using Zuken Cabling Designer and Varian Module (VM)
* To identify earth strategy for vehicle in conjunction with customer
* Meet release targets identified by customer to ensure that device owners are provided with systems ahead of official release
* To actively generate VA / VE feasible ideas and follow up until its release
* Any other comparable duties as requested by the Line Manager
Skills & Qualifications
* HND / degree level in an electrical / electronic / mechanical engineering and have knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits
* Proficient in I-DEAS 2D / 3D wiring harness design software, cabling designer / VM and HD is also an advantage
* Experience of harness build and manufacturing processes is desirable
* Be able to communicate effectively at all levels with emphasis on a high degree of customer contact / liaison
Special Conditions
* Must have an existing right to live and work in the UK
* To be able to travel overseas as required
