Events and Communications Manager
Location: Manchester
Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week
Contract: 15-month fixed-term, starting ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead external corporate events for our client. This role supports business development, focusing on brand awareness and reputation.
The ideal candidate will have strong event management skills, particularly in project coordination and logistics, from promotion to sponsorship and content development.
Event Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver the monthly events program.
* Manage logistics such as venue bookings, marketing materials, invoices, and packing lists for sector-specific exhibitions.
* Organize internal engagement events, including sourcing venues.
* Manage budgets for all business development events.
* Serve as the main contact for event-related inquiries.
* Support event delivery with on-the-day coordination.
* Evaluate event performance and gather feedback for improvements.
* Collaborate on developing an external events calendar.
* Oversee hiring of event personnel as needed.
* Monitor and assess event success for continuous improvement.
Communications Responsibilities
* Lead communication and marketing strategies for events and projects.
* Promote events through invitations, RSVPs, social media, and collaboration with the BD team.
* Develop sponsorship opportunities and packages.
* Coordinate messaging across internal teams.
* Create marketing strategies with the Head of PR & Communications.
* Support internal communications with the People Team.
Essential Skills and Experience
* At least 3 years in event management and communications planning.
* Strong logistical and strategic planning skills.
* Ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
* Leadership experience managing teams or direct reports.
* Proficiency with Zoom Webinar, Salesforce, Canva, and agency experience preferred.
