Key Account Manager - Science Publishing [Bath BA2 9AP (Hybrid)]
About the role
As the Key Account Manager, you will manage and expand existing accounts within the designated sales territory, leveraging your scientific and/or publishing/marketing background to cultivate relationships at all levels.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bath, reporting to the account development sales manager.
Responsibilities include:
1. Articulating the value of SelectScience to decision makers and providing a consultative approach throughout the sales cycle.
2. Cultivating relationships at all levels within accounts to promote long-term partnerships and coordinating interactions with other departments.
3. Using diverse strategies such as face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings, telesales, digital tools, and exhibitions to prospect and grow accounts.
4. Achieving sales targets and providing regular forecasts and market feedback.
Skills and experience
* 10+ years of B2B sales experience in a consultative, commercial environment within science, publishing, marketing, or related fields.
* Knowledge of the scientific industry or a science degree/experience in technical or marketing industries.
* Proven ability to develop and expand accounts, with a track record of exceeding sales targets (£900k+ per year).
* Excellent communication skills, resilience, high energy, and a positive outlook.
* Ability to work independently and manage international travel efficiently.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital tools.
Preferred qualifications
* Experience in relationship-based sales and digital publishing.
* Familiarity with Salesforce, Monday.com, HubSpot, LinkedIn Navigator, AI tools.
