An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established structural steel business delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This is a key role within a growing commercial team, offering the chance to work on a wide range of technically interesting steelwork projects from tender stage through to final account.
What you'll do:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and detailed take-offs for structural steel projects
* Manage valuations, variations, and interim payment applications
* Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to assess project requirements
* Work closely with design, project management, and fabrication teams
* Negotiate with clients and subcontractors to ensure commercial control of projects
* Monitor project costs and report on financial performance
* Assist with procurement of materials and subcontract packages
* Support final account preparation and agreement
You'll need:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel or construction
* Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Experience with cost control, variations, and commercial reporting
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (preferred)
