GCSE English and Maths Tutor (Havering)
ABOUT THE ROLE
Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified GCSE English and Maths Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to young people in the Havering area who are currently not attending school.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored sessions aimed at closing learning gaps, boosting confidence, and supporting students to re:engage with education. Many learners may have been out of school for a significant period, so experience supporting students with low confidence or special educational needs (SEN) is highly beneficial.
This role is ideal for a qualified teacher looking for flexible, rewarding work outside of the traditional classroom environment.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor student progress and ensure impactful learning.

Location: Havering Position: GCSE English and Maths Tutor (1:1 Outreach) Type of work: Contract / Outreach tuition Start date: ASAP Hours: 10:15 hours per week (sessions are typically 1:3 hours each) Contract type: Temporary Rate of pay: From 25 per hour Duration: Varies depending on the student
REQUIREMENTS
Experience, Training and Qualifications
QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification Experience teaching GCSE English and/or Maths SEN experience (essential) Minimum 6 months of experience in a UK school setting Up:to:date Safeguarding training (desirable)

Have the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) Provide two child:related professional references covering the last two years
