This is an exciting opportunity to join the University Hospitals Tees Research & Development Department. We are looking to appoint a vaccine project manager to set-up and coordinate our vaccine clinical trials.
The role requires a research professional with experience and excellence in conduct and management of clinical and translational research, including familiarity with the regulatory environment surrounding clinical trials.
Main duties of the job
This will include the setting up and coordination of commercial vaccine studies following the study protocols. The post holder will ensure that the studies are conducted in accordance with the relevant clinical trial regulations.
This will be an exciting opportunity for someone with trial management or co-ordination experience who relishes a challenge, is keen to use their own initiative, and is flexible to the changing demands of the research. You will need to be self-motivated, a strong communicator, and be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Knowledge and experience of contributing to and effectively implementing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and challenging timelines
2. Maintain an appropriate repertoire of management and research skills with well-developed leadership, influencing skills and the ability to enthuse, motivate and have staff understand the Trusts performance expectations.
3. Knowledge and demonstrable capability of service improvements, strategies for effective research delivery and co-ordination.
4. Significant experience in research with knowledge of research methodologies and trial design and co-ordination. In depth knowledge of regulatory framework relating to research approval processes ethical and MHRA approvals.

5. Experience of setting-up and managing multi-site research trials

6. Educated to a Master's level or above in a health related subject or relevant experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders

8. Research related qualification at Doctorate level (PhD or equivalent)

9. Trial mangement experience
10. Significant and current experience in the NHS research environment with a substantial amount of experience specifically within delivering complex projects or trials with multiple stakeholders
11. Excellent communication skills
12. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of staff, patients and carers face to face, on the telephone or in writing.
13. Ability to work across boundaries, integrating with multidisciplinary staff in relation to different situations and in relation to differing organisations
14. Competent IT skills with expertise in database management and a thorough current knowledge of NIHR systems
15. Excellent attention to detail and evidence of being a completer finisher when it comes to project work and delivery research
16. Knowledge and experience of mentoring staff and supporting them with competency achievement as well as development

17. Previous experience in a research co-ordinator role (single and multi-centre clinical trials to ICH-GCP standards)
