Robert Half Ltd is working exclusively and on a retained basis with a multi-billion-pound global company based in Milton Keynes, seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a Hybrid basis. This role offers a future route to the Head of Finance & Accounting position as part of success planning.
We are seeking an individual experienced in maintaining strong financial controls over the balance sheet, including accruals, provisions, working capital, liquidity, fixed assets, and IFRS 16 leasing accounting.

Role Purpose
The purpose of a Financial Accountant is to be a valued member of the finance team, taking a lead role in managing, analysing, and reporting on the company's financial activities. They will ensure that financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and regulations by championing a robust framework of financial controls and processes.
Role Responsibilities
* Report to the Head of Finance & Accounting
* Deputise for the Head of Finance & Accounting in their absence
* Work closely with the FP&A team and other departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting under Group Guidelines / IFRS (monthly, quarterly, and yearly)
* Collaborate with the FP&A team to ensure a strong mutual understanding of business performance and support in planning / forecasting processes
* Monitor legislation around accounting, tax, and payroll to ensure ongoing awareness and compliance
* Own the statutory external audit process, ensuring smooth and timely resolution of any issues
* Produce statutory accounts for all companies
* Maintain strong financial controls over the balance sheet, including accruals, provisions, working capital, liquidity, fixed assets, and IFRS 16 leasing accounting
* Conduct stock takes to a high standard, report variances, and drive improvements
Role Requirements
* Educated to degree level or above, preferably in a finance-related subject
* ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
* Experience in tax and audit
* Strong technical accounting skills (transfer pricing, corporation tax, IFRS, VAT, Income Tax, and statutory reporting)
* IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* SAP experience is desirable
* Demonstrable commercial business acumen and a sound understanding of financial controls
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
* Experience in a similar role
