Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee and manage the operations of our wraparound childcare services, including breakfast clubs, after-school clubs, and holiday clubs. This role is central to ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare, efficient management of resources, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and the operational expertise to support and grow our services.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
* Oversee the day-to-day running of all childcare clubs, ensuring consistency and quality across locations.
* Develop and implement operational processes to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
* Monitor attendance and capacity levels, optimising staffing and resources as needed.
Team Leadership
* Aid in the recruitment, training, and management of club staff, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and supported.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide opportunities for professional development.
* Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence.
Quality Assurance
* Ensure all clubs adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including safeguarding and health and safety.
* Regularly visit sites to assess the quality of service and implement improvements where necessary.
* Address and resolve any operational or staff issues promptly and effectively.
Parent and Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as the primary point of contact for parents, schools, and community partners.
* Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly.
* Build strong relationships with schools and local communities to promote services and partnership opportunities.
Financial and Administrative Oversight
* Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
* Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incidents, and compliance documentation.
* Prepare reports on operational performance for senior management.
Strategic Development
* Identify opportunities for expansion and improvement of services.
* Stay updated on industry trends and adapt practices to meet evolving needs.
* Contribute to long-term planning and growth strategies for the organisation.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
* Proven experience in an operational or management role, ideally within the childcare or education sector.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and other childcare regulations.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Effective leadership and people management abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Proficiency in using office and management software.
Desirable:
* Relevant childcare or management qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, NVQ in Leadership).
* Experience in business development or service expansion.
* First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Safeguarding certifications.
