Join Our Team as a Sous Chef!

Are you ready to take your culinary skills to the next level? We're on the lookout for an ambitious Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Levy! This is a full-time position, contracted for 40 hours per week, where you'll have the chance to create exceptional food experiences that brighten our clients' and customers' days. Role Summary

As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch catering support services for the Academy teams at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. Collaborating closely with the Training Ground Head Chef, Academy Lead Chef, and nutritionist, you will assist in all aspects of food production across the Academy and staff.


Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with the nutritionist and Lead Chef to plan innovative, performance-focused weekly menus for the Academy.
* Step in as the Lead Chef when needed at the Academy and Training Ground.
* Assist in creating performance recipes that meet specific sports nutrition requirements.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, completing mandatory food safety records.
* Support junior chefs in developing their culinary skills and nutritional knowledge.
* Coordinate the work of chefs and porters to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Work with the Lead Chef to minimize food and supply waste.
* Lead cooking lessons for senior academy players on rotation.
* Conduct food safety risk assessments and implement effective controls.
* Manage stock levels to maintain high standards.
* Check delivery notes against requisitions and report discrepancies.
* Be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet facility needs.
* Travel to away fixtures and collaborate with hotel chefs to ensure food quality.
* Work on bank holidays, including Christmas Day and New Year, as required.
* Lead and support the culinary team in the absence of the Lead Chef.
* Maintain a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work.


Person Specification: Skills, Abilities, and Experience


Essential

* Excellent organizational skills for yourself and your team.
* Ability to thrive under pressure.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel & Word).
* Food Hygiene Level 2 or higher.
* Forward-thinking mindset with attention to detail.
* Strong personnel management skills and the ability to build relationships.
* Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
* Flexibility and adaptability to change.
* Ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
* Commitment to continual professional development.
* Experience in professional sports (not essential).
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with teams (not essential).
* Experience working with hotel chefs for away fixtures (not essential).
