We’re hiring a Communications Officer to join our team in Portsmouth. This is a full‑time, permanent position working 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 40% office‑based to promote collaboration and teamwork across the Communications team and other departments.

Responsibilities
As Communications Officer you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day implementation of the communications strategy, spanning internal and external communications. You’ll work with the Communications Manager to deliver our communications strategy and plans that support the organisation’s goals, enhancing and protecting the organisation’s reputation and ensuring the focus of corporate communications is integrated and maximises readership across customer, corporate and employee audiences.
You will create and implement high‑impact, integrated communications that support key “campaign” areas, working collaboratively with the Communications team and other stakeholders to align campaigns and messaging with our culture and use them to their full potential across all audiences. You’ll take a “hands‑on” tactical approach, keeping focused on priorities and activity.
You will also play a key role in the effective organisation of a wide range of internal and external events.
Qualifications
You’ll demonstrate the ability to produce high‑standards of written and other content, putting customers at the centre of our communications and ensuring content is relevant, clear and concise. You’ll be an excellent corporate storyteller, capable of writing and creating compelling, creative and informative content for a range of internal and external channels. A degree‑level qualification, or other relevant professional qualification in communications or marketing, would be an advantage.
You should have active and in‑depth knowledge of corporate communication methods and tools, with excellent communications/PR experience including content creation, digital marketing, event management and content management systems for websites and intranets.
Interview Schedule
First stage interviews will take place via Teams on Tuesday 11 / Wednesday 12 November. Second stage interviews will take place at our Portsmouth office WC 17 November.
