At The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT) we're on a mission to make life more affordable for people in low-income communities. Every week, our community-powered food clubs redistribute surplus food to thousands of families, preventing waste and helping people stretch their budgets.

We're looking for an Assistant General Manager – Operations to help keep our busy warehouses and logistics running safely, smoothly, and at pace. Reporting to the Head of Region, you'll support the safe, efficient, and effective flow of food from warehouse to community hubs – making sure our members always get the best possible service.

What you'll be doing:

* Overseeing daily warehouse operations – from picking and packing to dispatch.
* Supporting staff, volunteers, and drivers to deliver excellence every day.
* Making sure the right people and resources are in place to safely collect, unload, and store food.
* Ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, and health & safety standards.
* Using real-time data (Dynamics & Power BI) to monitor performance and spot improvements.
* Managing assets and fleet maintenance, ensuring vans and equipment are safe and service-ready.
* Taking ownership in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions that keep things moving.
* Playing a key role in continuous improvement, helping us scale and grow.

What we're looking for:

* A dynamic, agile mind – someone who thrives on problem-solving and learning quickly.
* Experience in warehouse, logistics, hospitality, or convenience retail operations.
* Strong people skills, with the confidence to lead teams and get the best out of others.
* A hands-on approach, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Familiarity with compliance standards (food safety, HACCP, H&S).
* Data-literate (Dynamics/Power BI desirable but not essential).
* Flexible to work early (7am–3pm) and late (10am–6pm) shifts, plus rotating weekend cover.
