We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Head of Chemistry to join our large successful Science Department. The experience and ability to teach GCSE and A level chemistry is essential.

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and forward thinking Head of Chemistry to lead a thriving department within our highly successful 11–18 Science Faculty. Our science provision is exceptionally strong, with outstanding GCSE and A Level outcomes: more than three quarters of pupils achieve A–C* in GCSE Science and over a quarter secure A*/A grades. A Level performance consistently places the school within the top 30% nationally, and Chemistry remains a highly popular subject, with over 80 students studying AS and A Level Chemistry each year.
Given the strength and popularity of the subject, it is essential that the successful candidate can teach Chemistry to both GCSE and A Level to a high standard.

Alun School is a large, co educational comprehensive situated in Mold, twelve miles from the historic city of Chester. With year groups of over 200 students and a Sixth Form of 350 learners, we offer a vibrant and supportive environment in which to work. Students are enthusiastic, relationships with parents are strong, and pastoral care is highly effective through our established House system. Staff morale is extremely positive and staff turnover is notably low.
