I am proud of the person I have become since working here" About the Role As a Team Leader at our 9 bedded Childrens residential service in the heart of a residential community, you will be caring for children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, and may also have Acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs.

Children accommodated may also be socially and emotionally delayed, through neglect and harm.

As a Team Leader, you will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people.

Managing the health needs of the children forms a significant part of the service that we provide.

Our home provides a safe and nurturing environment where preconceptions are challenged and young people are encouraged to be the best that they can be and to live life to its fullest.

This is a hands on, shift based role.

You will be leading the shift and supervising staff whilst still providing direct support to the young people in your care.

You will be contracted to working 40 hrs per week and will include working at weekends and doing approx.

1 Sleep in shift per week.

You will ideally be able to demonstrate you have: Level 3 or Level 4 in Childrens Residential Care OR NVQ 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce, and at least 2 years experience within a residential setting and ideally working towards your NVQ Level 5 Diploma.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong values, self motivated, good people skills, experience of supervising staff and competent in IT.

You will need to have good working knowledge on the childrens homes regulations and working with children with complex learning difficulties You will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and complex health needs Key Responsibilities of a Team Leader: Maintain a safe, caring, and consistent environment for young adults Ensuring that RSW staff are adequately supported in their personal development and training so that they can actively participate and deliver in meeting all agency standards as assessed by CQC.

Ensuring that the healthcare, educational and welfare needs of the young people are consistently being met as a consequence of adequate daily management instruction and supervision by the RSW staff.

To promote and engage in positive relationships with Local Authorities and other agencies.

To assist the Registered Manager in conducting the RSW supervisions, performance reviews and appraisals of staff.

To support the management team with weekly/monthly rotas, auditing and record monitoring Deliver sensitive, high-quality support tailored to individual needs Empower individuals to achieve personal goals, build confidence, and gain independence Promote equality and diversity, and assist in the services smooth operation Support individuals health and educational needs Encourage the development of life skills for independence Plan and participate in leisure activities Act as a keyworker, supporting individual care plans Follow all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements Participate in ongoing professional development Qualifications & Experience Level 3 or Level 4 in Childrens Residential Care OR NVQ 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce, At least 2 years experience within a residential setting and ideally working towards your NVQ Level 5 Diploma.

Ideally 1 years experience in a Team Leader or Shift Leader position Ideally2 years experiencein a residential setting or SEN setting Ideally 2 years experience supporting people with learning disabilities Ideally 1 years experience supporting young people with complex needs Ideal Candidate To thrive in this Team Leader role, you should have: Strong communication skills The ability to communicate on various levels Working knowledge of, following, and working to Care Plans Experience of shift leading, delegating tasks, providing support and undertaking staff supervisions. xjlbheb
