This is a great opportunity for a someone to join our Occupational Health team as an occupational health technician.

The role will be based in our Reading and Swindon Occupational Health Clinics, but there will be some requirement to travel to other sites, and occasional night working. The technician will conduct safety critical medicals, health surveillance medicals, and plan and engage with various health promotion and wellbeing activities.
Your main responsibilities will be:
 1. Undertaking health screening procedures in accordance with company protocols.
 2. Carrying out Drug and Alcohol testing.
 3. Carrying out fitness for work medicals.
 4. Health surveillance screening including audiometry and lung function testing.
 5. Health promotion activities and wellbeing activities.
 6. Ensuring all medical information is accurately recorded.
 7. Ensuring all equipment is serviceable, clean and fit for purpose.
 8. Providing support to the occupational health team to keep our operations running smoothy and effectively.
 9. Undertaking additional tasks as requested.
 10. Being an active member of the Occupational Health team and promoting a positive working environment.
You will need to:
 11. Have knowledge of occupational health and/or a healthcare background would be desirable although training will be given.
 12. Beng flexible, having a genuine commitment to health and well-being, and a can-do attitude are all essential.
 13. Be able to work effectively independently and within a team framework.
 14. Be able to prioritise and manage time effectively.
 15. Have good interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
 16. Be an enthusiastic and inspiring role model grounded in practice.
 17. Be innovative and adaptable.
About the location
This role will be based in our Reading and Swindon Occupational Health Clinics, but there will be some requirement to travel to other sites across the GWR Network and occasional night working.
Additional Information
This is a full-time role, 5 days/week. Some travel and off-site working will be required therefore a degree of flexibility is needed. Train travel is provided.
